Sweetwater Dancing Farm started out in 1996 as a small thoroughbred racing and breeding farm located in
Lacey, WA.
When we first started the farm was set up on about 80 acres and made up of four barns, two racetracks, a trail around the property and a
beautiful creek that ran through one of the main pastures. The stallion barn could
house up to 10 stallions with a breeding lab at the end. The broodmare barn
could house up to about 40 mares with 10 birthing stalls with each mare having their
own entrance to the broodmare pasture. Our weanling and yearling barn could house
up to 50 horses. Our racehorse barn housed up to 20 horses with each horse having their own
turnout Now
in 2003, the farm sits on about 200 acres with a small vet clinic
that can do most emergencies with on call staff. The stallion barn
which can house up to 20 stallions with a state of the art breeding
shed located at the end of the barn. The ladies of the farm are
housed in two barns each barn housing up to 40 mares. Our yearling
and weanling barn consists of four barns each having 40 horse
capacity. The race horse barns consist of two barns housing 15
horses each connected in the middle by a main office. All barns have
two wash stalls, a tack room with each horses grooming supplies
& tack in it's own spot. We've got two hot walkers which will
hold five horses at a time. All stallions have a half acre turnout
located just off their stall. Also on the property are now three
tracks with footing comparable to the major race tracks, two
training dirt tracks and one steeplechase training track. Today the
farm still has that beautiful creek that runs through the main
broodmare pasture.
